The Waikato Pistons took a 1-0 series lead with a dominating 95-78 win over the Wellington Saints in game one of the 2008 Dominion Finance NBL Finals in Te Awamutu on Tuesday night. Nick Horvath (37) & Lindsay Tait (13) were the only Saints in double figures.

Cameron Tragardh hit 16/20 from the field on the way to a 35-point & 10-rebound haul in the Wizards easy 106-61 win over the Maroochydore Clippers.
New ahm Hawk Rhys Martin had 21-points, 5-rebounds and 4-steals to help Rockhampton to a 101-83 over Mackay.

Jeremy Kench's Canterbury Rams upset Lindsay Tait's Wellington Saints in Christchurch on Friday night, 108-77. Kench supplied 16-points, 7-steals and 2 assists whilst Lindsay Tait had 18-points, 2-assists & 2-steals.
Tait backed up the following night in Dunedin with a 21-points, 5-assist effort in the Saints 93-73 over the Nuggets.

Cameron Tragardh had 21-points, attempting just eleven shots in the Northside Wizards 95-79 loss to Townsville, despite the loss the Wizards remain in the Top 4 with a 5-2 record. Tragardh remains the QABL leading scorer, with a 34.6ppg average.

On Saturday night Canterbury upset Waikato Pistons 102-97 despite 44-points, 11-rebounds, 11-assists from former Gold Coast import Jason Crowe. Kench had 11-points and chipped in with 5-assists, 4-rebounds & 4-steals
