Illawarra IMB Seahawks had another strong home win over the weekend,
easily accounting for Manly 99-65 in the ABA Waratah league.
The win moves Illawarra to 4-4, just outside the top six.
Guards Dom Cooks, Luke Higgins & Cameron Fincher produced an outstanding effort to maintain constant pressure in the back court, their suffocating defense helped force Manly into a staggering 37-turnovers.
Forwards Brad Simpson & Kieran Glesson aided plugging Manly’s guards in the back court.
Coach Matt Flinn believes the team showed signs against Manly that it can be a force as the season progresses.
“This games shows that we can be a very dangerous basketball team in the Waratah conference, provided we follow our rules defensively and maintain maximal effort with our ball pressure.” said Flinn.
Flinn added “The thing for us is to string together consistent games. We spoke about looking after the process, rather worrying about the outcome, if you concentrate on doing the little things and putting together consistent quarters then the "w' will look after itself.”
