Despite leading for much of the game and 37-points from John Philip the
IMB Illawarra Seahawks came up short - 90:101 - against a fired up Newcastle
Hunters, who played an intense 48-minute game.
Seahawks committed an unwanted 24-turnovers, way above the team goal and found it tough to execute down the stretch.
Coach Matt Flinn noted that due to NBL commitments for several of in
the squad, the Seahawks are "a little underdown at this stage of the
season, we are yet to have a full squad at training" and "inconsistency
although not tolerated, is expected"
Dan Jackson debut produced 13-points & 10-boards and Dom Cooks had 10-points, 6-boards and handed out 6-assists.
The home team connected on 14 triples, whilst Illawarra could manage just 7.
